Baby Desire's Short Story Analysis (Analisis Cerpen Baby Desire's)

Background         : This short story tells three main characters namely Armand, Desire and Madam Valmonde. Desire was Valmonde's adopted son whom he met near the gate of his home, located below the stone pillar. When he grew up, he married a man named Armand and gave birth to a black baby

Setting                  : The location of this main story is in Louisiana when she gave birth to her child with a different skin

Raising Action     : When madam Valmonde came to their house to see the situation, madam valmonde found odd about her grandson who had black skin

Climax                  : Desiree baby with black skin makes Arman restless, making him behave strangely. Armand questioned why they gave birth to a child with a skin different from the two of them. Armand believes that his wife is the one who has blood descendants of the dark skin so that finally they both argue about their skin and race.Falling Action              : After going through a big fight, Arman said words that indirectly drove Desiree away just because of skin and race problems. They both separated and each other's lives.

Resolution           : But once Armand found a letter addressed to Armand's father where his mother stated that he was a person of the black race and later his son Armand would understand his own condition.

Social Condition : Discrimination against the black race in his wife, Desiree

View Point           : Viewpoint Omniscient, the writer exits his character by showing all the characters who can move around. The author also knows the contents of the thinking of all characters and even characters that existed in the past or did not exist in that time.
